29 Sep, 2014 beet 132

The SchoolboyRugby Blog had the honour of Stefan Terblanche doing some free publicity work for the website via twitter recent. But before anyone gets overexcited that Stefan’s now taking a greater interest in school rugby its worth mentioning that he is hosting a Gala Debate Evening at Maritzburg College on 01 October, so his tweets are probably just amounted to a bit of self-promotion more than anything else (not that I’m unhappy about it :) )…

25 Sep, 2014 beet 29

The Sharks and Eastern Province under-19 teams clash in a must win round-robin match at Kings Park on Saturday, 27 September 2014 (09h30).  Along with the Golden Lions, the the three teams find themselves battling it out for the last remaining semifinal spot in this year ABSA under-19 competition. The Lions have a bye this weekend but appear to have a slightly easier finish after that, so defeat for either of the other two will probably spell the end of their hopes of making the playoffs. …

Bleak future for quality pro rugby in SA

20 Sep, 2014 beet 8

I switched on the telly this morning and caught the highlights of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) soccer match between Ajax Amsterdam of Holland and Paris St Germain (PSG) of France. Garsfontein teammates become opponents

8 Sep, 2014 beet 10
