I was again privileged to attend this festival yesterday.

This is a unique oppertunity for schools, that do not get invited to the rest of the country,s major festivals, to also showcase their talents.
And I can can confirm that there are a lot of uncut diamonds that represents these schools. No wonder then that the Bulls and Sharks have ,as in the past, once again sent their scouts to attend the festival. At this festival, the Sharks have previously picked up Pieter-Stef Du Toit (ex Swartland) and the Bulls the talents of Duncan Matthews (Also ex Swartland). Damien De Allende (ex Milnerton) was also spotted at this occasion some years back.

Also pleasing to see that the majority of WP,s top refs are in action at the festival. World reknowned ref, Jonothan Kaplan, is a constant supporter of the event. My respect for him even grew larger, as he is not picky to do just the big matches on the A field. Saw him take the whistle on the C field in a match between two unknown rural rugby schools.

As is the wish of the man whose name this festival carry, Tony Stoops, the overwhelming feeling one gets, is the pure enjoyment of the participating schools.

The bonus for yours truly, is the fact that I can still later on, also watch the matches of the other festivals, that was streamed.

Long may this festival continue !!
