Vleis yes we did go on such a tour and indeed it was very tough played the top 3 schools in the UK. But i think it was the best prep we could have had in getting the youngsters ready for this past year.
Not that this year will be easier as we will be playing the English school champs, racing metro and still waiting for confirmation on the 3rd opponent.
@MikeSt: Sounds like a brilliant tour, albeit very difficult as your boys will be out of practice and playing in very alien conditions.
Didn’t EG go on a similar tour at the end of last year? I seem to remember that they struggled as they played older boys playing for the big clubs like Saracens, etc?
Good luck EG!
@MikeSt: I trust the teams’ palate for garlic and baked beans is also being taken care of. Plent of it where they are going.
What an experience for the guys! Bon Voyage!
Nice!
They must be careful of those French boys…they make them rough and tough up there
@MikeSt: what’s the cost if you don’t mind me asking – just curious? Assuming you guys have been fund raising for a while for this?
Sjoe, nice development and opportunities. They will always remember it.
Squad is made up of the 14 guys that were part of the 1st XV this year. Grade 11’s in the mix for next year and U16 that’s in the mix as-well. We are taking a few U15 aswell to give them exposure and development.
Wow. Nice going. Who will be the touring team members. The first team of this year or of next year.
This is something to look forward to for the boys. What a wonderful experience and also brilliant pre- season preparation to a built up to a powerful 2015 team.
