@NealW: Yeah good player, You mention his lines. His decision-making was also on the ball.
@NealW: Sherwood het n blink toekoms!
@beet: 9-10 also had Sherwood as inside centre who has real presence and also runs great lines to take the pressure off. Watch out for Bosch this year they really looked slick.
Agree Beet- Bishops Drosdy an excellent game.Bishops defended for 10/15 min on their tryline- courageous stuff.
both teams will be tough to beat this year
@NealW: Yeah Neal. I take my hat off to both coaches. Bishops were so in sync, it was hard to believe it’s just the start of the season. The pack attacking the channels just alongside the breakdowns too good. My personal favourites on the day were the Bishops 9-10 combo. The line outside them gelled and 11 has pace. The Waterkloof coach Cobus van Dyk wisely mentioned recently how valuable a good 9 and 10 are to success in SBR and Bishops proved the point. The HTSD 9-10 are good as well. Their 10 has done good things in the three matches I’ve watched him. But the Worcester guys just did not have what Bishops had in terms of a dangerous backline on the day.
At halftime Drostdy were down and out of it. Whatever their coach said to them for motivation worked wonders. 8 from Bishops was good throughout, 8 from Drostdy the player of the second-half to help the comeback along. HTSD 7 consistently good as a ball-carrier. Great game. Hopefully more of the same to come from both teams
@beet: Agreed re Bishops game. Really top notch – Bishops are not the biggest side but they are really well coached. Bosch are going to be a handful this year – played at pace and that No.8 is quite the athlete.
I’m not sure how this festival went for Wynberg organisers but as a streaming viewer I thought it was first class.
The Bishops – Drostdy match is now my favourite of the season to date. A game of two halves and great character tests for both sets of players. Bishops lead 20-0 at the break after playing some amazing rugby. Drostdy regrouped, played like a totally different team in the second half and brought it back to 20-19 with about 4 minutes to go. Bishops then scored a late try to seal the deal at 27-19.
Bosch looks like they have a very good team this year.
The SACS no.9 was great to watch. Unorthodox at times but really packed some useful skills.
