Paul Roos Gymnasium has accepted the invitation to be South Africa’s representative at the international Sanix tournament in Japan next year.
The school has already received SARU clearance and preparations for the tour will begin during the fourth term of this year.
The down side is that due to the clash of dates, Paul Roos had to inform the organisers of Wildeklawer SuperSkole that they will not be able to attend the Kimberley festival in 2015. They have been excused and will likely be back on the schedule in 2015.
Paul Roos celebrates its 150th year of existence in 2015. For this sesquincentennial year leading up to its birthday on 01 March 2016 they look to have a very special 1st XV in the making. Many of the first choice players belonged to Paul Roos A-teams that have stood out at lower age-group levels. There is no such thing as an easy ride for Paul Roos though. They have a very challenging annual fixture list every season.
A highlight of the 150th celebrations will be a special rugby day om 28 March 2015, which is expected to attract several top school rugby teams to the beautiful Markotter ground in Stellenbosch.
