    @KES Oldboy: Agreed.

    I’d prefer the locals to play their strongest teams v the foreigners, from a national pride pojnt of view, but I’m clearly in a tiny minority.

    @Vleis: I’m not sure. It is always a problem at these festivals where reserves need to play. When you see a result, you are never sure how many of the reserves/bench were on the field. And of course this makes a massive difference – especially to the smaller schools.

    @KES Oldboy: St Alban’s played all of their reserves v NSW – perhaps Noordheuwel did too? Hopefully, St John’s play their full strength team tomorrow.

    @BrotherBear: Beer kan nie meer saamstem.Shocking.En die talent is daar.Hardloop skuins en dan 2 double skip flatballs,are you joking?Ek kan maar net my kop skud. Hulle gaan groot houe vat @enige goeie opponent. Met alle respek aan St Albans, ons behoort hulle 50 te gee en hule het ons properly average laat lyk.

    St John’s are going to have their work cut out for them vs NSW. They play a very attractive brand of rugby and have the best skills at the festival- granted I haven’t watched any of PBHS’s mismatches though.

    The number of comments in this thread is probably an indication of the quality of rugby at the festival. Absolutely shocking. Helpmekaar maybe top 30 if this goes on. Coaching is nowhere to be seen. Forwards trying their best but backline game plan and execution shocking. Few minutes that ball was not dropped, passed accurately and timeously, the team looked dangerous and scored points. Who is the backline coach? Is there a head coach?

    @Trots HJS (Tandem): I’m not, sorry.One of the main reasons I joined the blog was for being updated on live scores and results….It’s frustrating knowing there’s probably bloggers at all the festival’s who can update us but don’t….one of those things….

    @Vleis: I hear you.So the conditions were difficult and don’t suit the NV teams.Given the facts like you stated, conditions and strength of opponent’s,a ugly but good win for Helpies then.

    @Grizzly: @knowthegame: Helpies dropped a lot of balls, but I suspect that the conditions were wet, either via rain or evening dew on the fields.

    That said, Stellenberg are very tough competitors this season, so a win over them should be celebrated. They’ve beaten Drostdy, Oakdale, EG Jansen and Wynberg this season and only suffered one fairly narrow loss to Affies at N/S.

    @Trots HJS (Tandem): Nee wat,as jy swak speel die dag moet die krediet aan opponente gegee word.Vernaam n span Soos BH.Eerste wat ek hoor van BL se beserings en dit het nie van BL bloggers gekom nie.@knowthegame: Is daar nie dalk ouer politiek aan die gang nie…Die goeie nuus is die span kan speel,wat ookal haak kan maw uit gesort word…vroeg in die seisoen en sal nie nou al afskryf nie.

    @Grizzly: ek kan jou nie regtig antwoord nie, nie kinders meer in skool maar daar is n serious probleem.Dan gooi 6/8 in by lynstaan, dan gooi haker in. 10 Baie talent, maar hy drift en gooi dan lang pass, ag ek gee op.Dit vat geen kenner om te sien daar is probleme nie.Miskien attitude. 2goeie wenne, dink hulle world beaters. Ek kan nie na gisteraand, een groot positiewe uitwys nie. Anycase al hoe jy leer is om so aan te ploeter en maar na die score bord te kyk

    @Grizzly: Boishaai het swak gespeel teen Helpmekaar en BL het span vol beserings gehad . Dalk het dit Helpmekaar beter laat lyk en was verwagtinge te groot ?

    Het gisteraand die HELPIES/Stellenberg game gekyk. Helpies kan baie bly wees hulle het nie n top 10 skool gespeel nie want hulle sou weer 50 punte of meer gevat het. Jy sou dink na Affies pakslae sou hulle n paar lesse geleer het, maar al wat ek sien hulle geleer het is “absoluut niks” Die “flat” lang aangee van die backs werk nie. Enige redelike span shift net en dan neutraliseer jy dit. Sou graag sien hulle speel dieper. Basics skokkend. In fact non exsisting. Helpies het talent maar as hulle op die trant aankarring gaan dit n baie lang seisoen wees.
