The prop was Johan Nel. Other prop Gielie Swiegers. Jaco Coetzee was the 8. Lourens Campfer also part of the group. Played against them for Quins – it was NOT fun.

Conrad Breytenbach was at 9 some times.Jannie was a parent at my boys school as well as Mick Helena who later played 8.We had lots of chats around that 90-95 time period.

No I don’t think so.Anything is possible but they need someone to unlock the potential of the players of color. That person must be hands on, know what his doing and give at least 10 years to establish a rugby culture. On paper that’s more than plausible but in reality it’s a long shot.

Braam van Straaten and Ruan Nortje. I also played a bit with Jan Wolmarans who was BB first or second SAS player. Braam is my age and we went to SAPS college first cemester ’90.I remember him trying out at cricket. That time the first team rugby Thabo Thomas at 9,Ockie van Greunen 10,FA Meiring wing, Rudi v d Venter and Jannie Claasens centres. Ackers and Adri Geldenhuis locks…. All played or went on to play for BB. As for the school it’s massive and beautiful. They always even in my time lack a sports tradition. I suspect the good players will go to Oos Moot.

Fantasies om Oos-Moot by NS te sien. Saam Pta-Noord die mooiste rugby truie. As hulle teen mekaar speel is dit die All Blacks teen die Bulle. Se nog altyd as daai skool n hoof soos Bantjies kry is dit nag vir die 4 groot skole in die Ooste. Baie plek vir koshuise en fasiliteite. Daars genoeg geld ook.Daars net n inigma aan die Moot in Pta.
