George Campbell coach to join Kearsney in 2015

Likeable and well-respected George Campbell head coach Antonie Prinsloo has accepted a Maths teaching post at Kearsney and will start in January 2015.

It was a tough decision for Antonie and it’s anticipated that it will be a very emotional day when he has to say his final goodbyes at George Campbell where he has worked since 1998, barring a short spell of three years of playing and coaching rugby in the UK. So that’s 14 years of broken service.

Antonie replaced current KZNRU High Schools Association Chairman and SA Schools Vice Chairman Noel Ingle, who stills teaches at Campbell, as 1st XV coach in 2009. This achievement made him the longest servicing of all the KwaZulu-Natal “Top Schools” 1st XV coaches this past season.

Campbell is yet to announce a replacement. It will be just their third 1st XV coach in 29 seasons.

Whoever gets the nod will have big shoes to fill. Even with a limited budget and no boarding establishment Campbell has made a habit of punching above their weight and achieving commendable results.

Kearsney recently received the resignation of their own 1st XV head coach slash teacher Frank Lubbe, who will be joining his alma mater Maritzburg College.
