Sixteen school 1st XVs including the hosts are participating in what has proven to be a difficult school calendar year for organisers to work around and finalise.

KES and Pretoria Boys’ High are not making the trip down in 2024 but the BIG miss is East London’s former permanent fixture Selborne. Where is Selborne? Who’s made the decision to give Grey a miss?

Impressive performance from Brandwag after some early season horrors, notably v Jeppe.

100% agreed. Didn’t expect Saints to lose like that though.

If I’m being honest, I must conclude that today’s games were a bit disappointing. St.Andrew’s don’t yet know how effective their running game is as they weren’t tested. Saints didn’t show up. Jeppe never got going. St. John’s showed no creativity.

Won the game but didn’t play great. Lukewarm at best.

I’m expecting Jeppe to bounce back from the KES hiccup, against both Graeme and Saint Andrews College.

Saints got a big wake up call from Hudson Park. They will be better prepared for their fixture vs Queens. St John’s have had a long break – they will need to step up vs Grey who seem to be finding some form with a very good performance vs PRG.

Graeme & St. Andrew’s might feel the wrath of a motivated Jeppe team coming off a painful loss…..

    Dear Mr W.
You continue to post about King Edward’s, as if you have intimate knowledge of the place? The school has chosen not to go to The Grey this year due to the fact that we are not prepared to compromise academic time. Absolutely nothing to do with cost. Additionally we have our Matric Dance this weekend. Our fixtures have been scheduled with the players welfare in mind. The mid term break is very specific for us as we now enter a period where many boys will play every Monday/Tuesday and Saturdays for the next month due to Trials and Lions commitments. Perhaps have a little more faith in your Alma Mater? You didn’t show that leading up to the last game. And in case you wondering I speak with absolute authority about the school.

I’m somewhat disappointed KES haven’t made the trip. They’ve really committed to a conservative workload this season.
I guess it’s an issue of cost more than anything else…

I’m baffled by Selborne’s decision not to attend. I really hope they have something to make up for those games or else our fixture list looks very underwhelming next year.
