2 new rugby coaches for Affies

Affies have upped their game by appointed two new 1st XV coaches ahead of the 2015 school rugby season. Jan-Hendrik Hattingh (history teacher) and Jaco Koch (gym manager/biokineticist) will take charge of the Witbulle backs and forwards respectively. Koch’s promotion means a new conditioning coach Janus Kruger (previously Boishaai) also comes into the mix.

Head coach Sakkie van der Walt will now assume the position of Team Manager.

Coach New Role Previous Role
Sakkie van der Walt Team Manager 1st XV Head Coach
Jan-Hendrick Hattingh Backs Coach u16A Head Coach
Jaco Koch Forwards Coach Conditioning Coach
Janus Kruger Conditioning Coach At HJS Paarl BH

Affies have 16 returning players (Grade-11’s) with 1 or more games for their 2014 1st XV.
Add to this that at under-16 level this year, Affies ended 2nd on the unofficial national rankings.
So before even factoring Affie-guts to the formula, we are looking at a 2015 1st team the will have experience and a decent amount of depth as well.

Boishaai’s loss is Affies’ gain !! Janus is an excellent conditioning coach – I guess he is going back to his roots and will be joining a fellow PUKKE graduate, Jaco Koch
