KES will once again welcome a strong cross-section of schools from around South Africa to Reds Field in Houghton. Worcester Gymnasium, known for their exciting, high-tempo, ball-in-hand brand of rugby, make their festival debut. Adding international flavour is Cranbrook, an independent school from Sydney, Australia.
Also included in the lineup are Eldoraigne, Noordheuwel, Northwood and 100-year-old Pearson — all schools intent on raising their overall rugby standard and broadening their national footprint. Meanwhile, the likes of Marlow and Queen’s, both well-established rugby schools, are expected to deliver a level of competitiveness that sits a notch above what is typically associated with their programmes.
The KES Red Army will be under the coaching leadership of Jabz Zulu for his first season in charge, while Hudson Park sees Onke Dubase return, now with the added responsibility of serving as their new Director of Rugby.

– in 2025 Jeppe’s 100% matric pass rate best in the district is better than what Kes achieved in the same district
– in 2025 at 1st XI Hockey and 1st XV Rugby Jeppe did the double on Kes
– Highlight of my SBR life the Rugby Lesson Paarl Gim gave to Kes. 102 reason why I love Paarl Gim
Facts for 2026
– Jeppe is not playing at Kes fest. Large jovial crowd that follows Jeppe will most likely decend on PTA Boys
– Jeppe is starting to build a habit of dusting off Kes with two very impressive resilient 1st XI T20 cricket wins in the same week
No amount of near midnight threats will change that my bud.
On our very fine former Headmaster I think he would tell you being top of the district for Matric results is probably his greatest achievement at Jeppe
Our new Headmaster also considers it his duty to keep us up there more than any achievement on the sporting field. Maintaining and improving on the acamedic standards is now the number priority for the school.
I am not that much of a narcissist to think I represent the school in anything. Just a proud old boy bursking in the sunshine hoping our purple patch runs long.
Maybe I will ask Beet to change my name to Dingo thanks for the suggestion. I like the idea of being a wild untameable

I think you are having an existential crisis because so much of your identity is built around Kes being better….. All I was asking is the same amount of energy to be expanded as was during December when certain school declared itself the best sport school in the country…. heard that even cricket lost twice to us at first XI level this past weekend eish it just keep getting worse doesn’t but alas your know what I know a good psychiatrist a friend recommended to me on the blog🤪🤪🤪🤪

Leave poor Dale alone unless you have not heard the news he is the executive head at SJC and no longer at Jeppe but you are right there are a few facts from 2025 and 2026 that might be driving me insane:
1. Jeppe 100% matric pass rate Kes not
2. Jeppe won both the first team Hockey and Rugby in the Winter Fixture
3. More of a Rugby school Kes got a 102 point rugby lesson viva Paarl GIM
Then in 2026
Jeppe is not playing at the Kes fest therefore the jovial and rather large crowd that ussual comes with it won’t be there this year.

I must stop talking to myself this year…. but what I wanted to say was Kes are going to miss our crowd at their festival this year …. however with that said they must be sick of us cause we properly dusted them in 2025 double in the hockey and rugby and then we achieve a better matric pass rate than them …. iyoh it must be panic stations in the exec meeting there😬😬😬😬
