@Grasshopper: It must have been a cracker! As expected. Kingswood was 29-10 up at some point.I’m sure the pubs and bottle stores in Grahamstown haven’t closed since Friday

Well done to House! Results may not have gone their way this year, but we all know that in schoolboy rugby, what matters most is that win against your fiercest rival. Get that and you’ve had a successful season.

On another note – can anyone put Westville’s draw against Voortrekker? Better than normal Voortrekker, or a confirmation of Westville’s 2016 woes?

@McCulleys Workshop: Morning and Morning to Far Meadows. Fantastic win over the weekend for the First Team and for the boys shouting the war cries. For us parents drinking the dry champagne it tasted sweet    .Felt sorry for the Second Team on Saturday would have been nice for them to end with a win, they were out played by Hilton. The team of the year for me, was the 3rd Team. Wow they played enterprising rugby. Well coached and very good leader as a Captain who leads from the front. Hope you all had a good fathers day yesterday. Take care and have a good week. Our season is now over.      what do we do on Saturdays now

@Far Meadows: Wow that isa huge result for House, well done. Hilton have dipped and House risen in the past 2 months, maybe depth a problem at Hilton. Kearsney continued their really good season too..

@Far Meadows: Great result and an away game. Good to see 14a and 15a results. The u14’s have had a very good season and u15 improved since last year, although they have been a little inconsistent. Interesting to see what Schwartz can do with them next year.

Well done to Michaelhouse on their 21-17 win over Hilton yesterday.

A nice way to end what has been a rather grim season for ‘House.

@Greenman: GW were one of those schools that rankings were not kind to – on the day they were awesome – but the had some poor results and a tough fixture list that put them down the rankings. A good example of why rankings should not be taken as gospel and be the only indicator of a season.

@GreenBlooded: I’m not sure we can leave him to his own devices, intervention is needed. Perhaps pass the hat around esor and pay for 3 days at Forduon or something. Of maybe put a reference for Fordoun on his missus’ Phasebook thingy – that should to it.

@Playa: We’ve heard that before!!

So confirmed – College play DHS at their 150th Founders day on 4 Jun – and then host Hilton for their Reunion the following week. 2 big weeks!

@burra: My understanding is it is only KZN schools. The ones I know of are:
    DHS
    G Campbell
    Clifton
    Kearsney
    GW
    WV
    Voortrekker
    M College
    Hilton
    Porties
    St Charles
    Northwood

    All on Thursday 17 March
So I would guess 6 matches starting at 13h00 – and ending at around 21h00.

Perhaps this is where the GW fixture vs GC or NW will occur – and a second MC / WV fixture?

MHS seem conspicuous in their absence among the KZN schools.

Yep – the headmaster – plus Wynberg being in their 175th year.

I wonder if PRG will also be having some big games with their 150th in 2016 too.

Great for those schools and OB’s to have an anniversary like that.

@Rugger fan: Easy big boy. Please don’t mention that to my wife, this is the best reason I’ve had to buy a bike in 27 years  8)

@Rugger fan: Those festival fixtures seem to change at the drop of a hat though. Wynberg Festival – I can see the College vs Wynberg happening – a big of a headmaster personal armwrestle there I should think

Looks like Hilton for the College Reunion day? Interesting to see the Grey College fixture at the start of Term 2 now – no end of Term 3 as traditional. Sad to see no local schools getting the double fixture – last year’s two against WV were memorable.

also good to see fixtures against the EC and WC schools happening in the festivals.

    @Gungets Tuft: Just to add:

Glenwood will play 6 in Japan so 19 in total for them.

On 21 May 2016 Hilton has staggered fixtures against 3 schools, any of which could end up being their 1st XV opponents on the day (not sure yet how they have arranged to sort that one out), so Hilton comes down to 15 games

House has their usual shorter list – 12. Glenwood surprisingly short, 14 games, maybe taking a leaf from House that the route to the top 10 is not via 20 matches?

No returns matches for College vs Westville of Glenwood but they do have a very long season by their standards – 19 matches. That, and the travel vs Grey, KES, Wynberg Festival, Pretoria Boys is going to test the Open squad.

    Hilton longer than usual – surprising .. 17, Kearsney 18 …

With my lightie writing his matric starting today, not at College next year, going to test my travel resolve as well. Might have to buy a bike …
