RE: ORGANISER TONY STOOPS: Always worth mentioning is that the TSRF is a labour of love. Tony gives his time, energy and in the past even dipped into his own pocket to ensure this stays a community rugby success story. From a rugby advancement perspective, the festival continues to offer Rugby Union and tertiary institution scouts the opportunity to watch kids they would otherwise never have seen play. As a result of past festivals doors opened for several promising players to play rugby at a high level after they completed matric.

  3. Just a few notes on the Noord-Kaap/Outeniqua game that will hopefully put the preposterous earlier debate about their u19’s into perspective. To be clear, if they had an entire u19 team and bench available yesterday, they would still not have beaten Outeniqua. Although they play to their structures, they are very one-dimensional and it only took the Kwaggas a few minutes to figure out how to defend the plays. The Kwagga 10 & 12 also figured out how to unlock the D very quickly and broke their line with clever skip and flat passes at will. Only poor final passes prevented a bigger score and but for one short period in the 2nd half, NK never looked like scoring. Any team that has lost to NK thus far simply need to accept that they were not good enough on the day or maybe not as good as they thought they would be this season. As I have said before, older does not mean better.
