ABSA Wildeklawer 2025 Road Show

Organising a 1st XV schoolboy rugby festival with 12 or more teams is hectic and requires a ton of work. So one can only imagine the workload when there are at least 28 first teams, plus several junior age-group rugby teams, and additional sporting events to coordinate over a few days in early May in Kimberley. It’s definitely no easy task.

Over the past couple of days, the ABSA Wildeklawer team has been travelling across the country, meeting with participants as part of their preparation. Even after visits to Gauteng, KZN, and the Eastern and Western Cape, they still have a session planned in the Central Region next week.

Amongst the topics discussed has been the tweaking of the 1st XV Rugby schedule.

The schedule isn’t finalised yet, but here’s how it’s shaping up so far with a few more changes to come:

Lots of good games and a nice bit of positive news is talk about the possibility of the tournament having an expanded extra match-day (effectively making it a 3-day tourney) to allow for more A-field games. That will be a big bonus. Having B-field games really sucks. It’s an advantage that Noord-Suid enjoys over Wildeklawer in the quest to be recognised as the best fest in SA.

As ek moet kies om dop te hou (vir verskillende redes):
    Affies vs Paul Roos
    Boland Landbou vs Affies
    DHS vs Paarl Gim
    Garsfontein vs Grey College
    Helpmekaar vs Grey College
    HJS vs Monument
    Oakdale vs Garsfontein
    Stellenberg vs Waterkloof
