The BHP scoring system works as follows:

Win Bonus: 0.5 points for a win by a score of 30 points or more.
Loss: no points for a loss.

Loss Bonus for losing by less than 11 points: 40% of opponent’s category points

After losing out by one point to Nelspruit in 2014, Garsfontein from Pretoria rewrote the history books on Saturday when they beat HTS Middelburg 42-40 in the Beeld Noordvaal Trofee final to claim the much sort after “Macro Schools” title for the first time in their history. Garsfontein opened its doors in 1988. The 2015 final also accounted for the highest number of points scored in a final – 82 points. The South African College High School (SACS) played host to Diocesan College (Bishops) on a cold and rainy morning in Newlands. Despite the conditions the oldest schools derby in South Africa lived up to expectations as a desperate Bishops team threw everything at a gutsy SACS side.
