@Snelvuur (Comment #32) It is indeed very concerning, especially in the case of Rondebosch as they are a school with so many boys and good coaches. It is very difficult to understand.

Most Rondebosch A teams are ranked in the top 15 in SA so give a better game than many. But fielding only 14 teams on a Saturday unfortunately just isn’t good enough

I have some big concerns about Rondebosch and Bishops’ continued participation in the WP A-league. Rondebosch only fielded 14 teams against PRG today – 6 open teams, two u16 teams, two u15 teams and four u14 teams. I heard it was much the same situation at Bishops. Disappointing to see.

41-17 WIN FOR PAUL ROOS OVER RONDEBOSCH

Paul Roos worries me, they start well and then allow teams to come back at them…Bosch narrowed the gap to 17-24 before Paul Roos closed them out. PRG needs to look at that..Boishaai , Paarl Gym and Grey Bloem will not allow them to run away with it towards the end of the game…

1st XV could always throw a spanner in the works, particularly given what is on the line from a Craven Week perspective; I think there is nowhere else the Lions selectors can be on Saturday but Krugersdorp.
Our best team by and large are the U15s; I am confident this will show in the scores as well.
1st XV have to be real ready for a war, a proper proper battle, that the 2023 and 2024 teams put up to claim wins.

Enjoy the games. Jeppe U16 is also a very good team.
Yeah the distance…I think Affies is closer to Jeppe than Monnas is.
And yeah…it’s sad to me that Marais Viljoen has dropped off, but the primary schools around Alberton are still strong feeders to many other schools.

    FOR THE BRAVE

@Kaya 85 (Comment #14) I am going to have to agree with you on that one Affies have the best tuckshop you call it relish I call it *Tamatie gravy* worth the trek up north …. I am making every excuse possible not to drive half way accross the province to go get klapped apparently Jeppe/Monument is a King Price game and will be live on 216 after Affies versus Grey College but there is a cover charge of R50 to enter Monnas that is always a surprise for me….. when I was in school Monnas had a big rivalary going with Marias Viljoen how times change…… true statement of their status as one of the blue bloods of SA SBR… seems every now and then someone tries for their crown as the kings of the Lions region…. I guess I am blessed to see my school rub shoulders with the big boys I guess its our turn to try toppel them …. back to back wins for us in 2023 and 2024 seemed to shake them a little ….. I think our boys are going to show what for the brave means this coming weekend ….. I say we surprise the good Doctor 49 – 47 in a very entertaining high energy/defence optional affair with our revived backline coming to the party 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

    Affies teen Grey Kollege
    Gespeel: 48
    Affies: 6
    Gelykop: 5
    Grey:37

Sedert 1993 toe die interskole hervestig is na nagenoeg ‘n 20 jaar breuk lyk die A span statisiek as volg:
    14A: 31-11-1-19 (35% vir AHS)
    15A: 31-14-1-16 (45%)
    16A: 31-8-1-22 (26%)
    1ste: 31-6-4-21 (19%)

@Kaya: Affies is usually unbeaten at Jukskei, bokdrol spoeg and kettie skiet against Grey!

Kaya went to watch the big Affies v Jeppe game, check out Klub 600, buy 4 or 5 boerie rolls (very nice onion relish) friendly aunties. Jeppe U16 still gave a decent account, but that 1st team game, despite leading 10 nil after about 10 mins… yikes , went downhill fast. Monnas on Saturday is going to be a rough old afternoon.

What people would call a bad Monnas team gave us 70 last year at home …. I think the good Dr knows losing to us might cause you to have to reallocate to Helpies ….. I am very nervous for this week and also the week thereafter …. We have to go to Northwood they are itching to right some wrongs have not beaten us in 1st XV since 2014 …. I am secretly hoping for a “hanta-virus” lockdown just for two weeks while we re-think the rest of the season…. our poor kids need it the massacre at Affies …… but our guys never back down I think that is why we have this tough very ambitious fixture list ….. I have cried about the schedule for the last two years but every year they make harder and even harder….. heard a rumours they are trying to add Noordheuwel as well next year 🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️

Monument often struggle against the english Jhb schools. I think it’s the language gap, dutchies from the West Rand not too good at english. Make all your calls loud and clear in english , by the time Dok Jannie has translated you would be behind their tryline. The Dok is from Bethlehem, english an obstacle there.

Pity no crosscountry as well I bet if they tried a sub 12mins 5k is possible in legs of the boys especially the Affies 1st XV backline quick and fit is an understatement…. jokes aside …. Judging from the rugby lessons both gave my old school this weekend will be a cracker at Affies will give the slight favourites tag to Affies at home but this is Grey College these boys are built different….. Eish for us next up is Monnas in Mogale City🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️ eish how do we check for flu like symptons again 🫣🫣🫣🫣

Nw vs MBCollege on Old Boys Day will be huge. No idea actually who to call. Either good enough to win. Will be on the day.

Kearsney vs DHS. SCHOOL to bounce back and pull away from KC. Surely they cant knock over 2 giants back to back?

WV to beat KES. KES seem to not be as strong. Ville will bounce back.
