For a total of 2458 days thereafter the Grey College home ground became an impenetrable fortress as they built up what must surely be one of the longest unbeaten home streaks in modern era school rugby history.

Paarl Gymnasium defeated Outeniqua 37-25 in an away game the many got to enjoy as a result of the Premier Interschools live T.V. coverage. By winning the game Gimmies effectively put a target on their backs as the new team to beat in SA schoolboy rugby.

The game was little like a “Rock, Paper, Scissors!” contest with the Kwaggas constantly opting for individual brilliance (scissors) and almost always being trumped by Gim’s teamwork approach (rock).

Paarl Boys High overcame a determined San Isidro from Argentina 38-20 after leading 24-6 at the break. The match played in 37 degree heat was Boishaai’s first for 2013. Judging by the result and the calibre of the opposition who’s reputation had been enhanced by good showings against Drostdy and Paul Roos, Boishaai has all rights to feels happy about this positive start to the season.…

Its objective is to tap into the vast rugby talent pool that exists in the Western Cape and then to fill any positional gaps with players from outside the region.
