Huge interest in WP under-16 games now

Ever since it became known that WP Grant Khomo Week selectors had turned a blind eye to Paul Roos Gim’s unbeatable under-16 team by selecting just one player for the squad of 22, it has sparked outrage throughout the region. As a result the level of interest in the age-group contest both locally and nationally has soared to new heights.

This weekend sees the Rondebosch and Paul Roos, the two teams believed to be the best in Western Cape at the moment clash at 10:15 on Meadows A. The respective 1St XV’s run on at 12:00 in what should be an equally mouthwatering match.

The Craven week choices in all the provinces seems to be a big mess. SARU controls Rugby in SA why don’t they step in. OR is this a reflection on what they want for rugby in SA. This sport is becoming unbearable for a 40 year long supporter like me. What could possibly be the end result or the hidden agendas of these FOOLS!!!!!! I have often wondered what the pshycological effect is on some of these brilliant young rugby players. Have a friend in New Zealand that is directly involved in the school rugby system of the All Blacks, THE BEST PLAYER ARE CHOSEN ,..PERIOD, can this be so difficult?

@Maroon: class came through at the end even in awful weather. our tight five showing some lovely handling skills.all the boys really pitched up today to show how laughable some of the wp selections were.wp no1 prop was nowhere to be seen after a while and our front row just got stronger as the game progressed

@Vleis: No doubt Bosch also have some fine players. Am curious though what will happen when we play Boishaai. What we must remember is: The boys don’t pick themselves! Just hope the weather make for conditions in which we can play.@wakker akker: Nader aan opg%&#k!

It’s a pity that the first match after the GK debacle is Bosch v PR. It is scandalous that PR only got one player on the bench in the GK team, but Bosch can also feel aggrieved (albeit much less than PR) that they only got one player in the starting team and one on the bench, as they are the second highest ranked Cape team and are ranked 6 in the country.
