Eldoraigne from Centurion near Pretoria have decided to drop down to the Blue Bulls Region Macro Schools B-section for the Beeld this year. With Centurion High also in the B-section and Affies no longer part of the Beeld, the Blue Bulls A-section is looking very small. Chances are the Eldoraigne move will encourage the remaining A-section Marco schools to press ahead with the formation of a proper Noordvaal premier league. Where this will leave the Beeldtrofee with its rich tradition, remains to be determined.

Surely no stopping Nelspruit’s finest now?
I have to say that in my mind Nelspuit Old Boy Duane Vermeulen should have walked away with SA rugby’s big award for being the country’s best rugby player in 2013 already. To me it’s debatable whether or not Vermeulen has had a better season this year compared to last year.
