Over the past seven years fortunate school rugby followers have had the pleasure of witnessing these uber talented rugby players setting the schoolboy fields throughout the country alight. 2012 has been no exception as Maritzburg College’s Kriel twins Jesse and Daniel have both laid down markers. …

Here is the starting point, listing many of the players that represented seven of the top schools at under-16 level in KwaZulu-Natal this season.…

With the 2012 Kwazulu-Natal season done and dusted, it would be nice to get a feel for the players coming through from the under-15 ranks that are likely to represent their respective schools at under-16A level in 2013. Obviously it’s too far off to expect accuracy at this stage, so the aim is really just to obtain a list of contenders for starting berths and if possible get from contributors an  idea of who they feel the standout performers were during this 2012 under-15 season.

After much delay, the SA High Performance under-16 Squad for 2012 is likely to be announced either today or tomorrow.

It would have been misleading to say that Glenwood played the perfect game of rugby to beat UK school Kirkham 33-5 on Dixons field but in many respects it was the perfect way to get their third term rugby program underway. The reason being, without stretching Glenwood too much, Kirkham proved to be worthy adversaries and tested Glenwood well in many departments.…
