    @NW_Knight: The Hillcrest U13A coach wonders if you would liek to place a little wager. Superior coaching huh? We will know on Sunday.

    @Pedantic & Greenhopper:

    U13A: This will be close, but superior coaching should see VC pull it off.
    U15A: VC too strong
    U16: Most interesting. Both sides very strong (heart says VC, head is confused)

    Yep, could be another clean sweep!! :mrgreen:

    @Greenhopper: While we’re playing the prediction game, I’m going to predict Varsity College will not have another clean sweep this weekend :)

    Crusaders certainly seem to be struggling – very sad considering their strength in youth rugby in the past decade – go look at the trophies, Crusaders everywhere!

    U13 B 09H55 Amanzimtoti vs Crusaders , whats happeningto Crusaders this year , bothe senior and junior teams , they look thin on the ground

    @NW_Knight: Hard to argue against the selections though. How do you argue against a College U16 that last lost a game in the early part of their U14 year, Glenwood and Westville who have constantly taken that side close – and Westville drew with College this year if I am not mistaken.

    It is very difficult to select kids from a losing side, especially when the school has not played top tier rugby for a few years. With the College fixture restored this will change – and it is a very good thing. It might not be fair, but it is a reality, given that it appears that the KZN selectors do not travel and watch very few games.

    Looking at the lists above, It seems to prove the point that selections are very biased and heavily weighted in favor of certain schools.

    Hey guys, the weekly 7 a side circuit including the @lantic 7’s (at GW this Saterday, incidentally) would also be go to see some of the young talent coming through, as it’s a good platform to blood youngsters.

    @Beet: Could you keep track of the results of the inter schools 7’s? They play each week, I think?

    @beet
    No.3 for DHS was Kyle Philaretou. It also seems you’ve missed Blessing Buthelezi who was VERY unlucky not to make GK. He played 12. Philani played B team mostly.

    @GreenBlooded: Ha ha Greenblooded. The bloody Tedder’s have been there for flipping years, 4th generation I think. I know more about the brothers as I was there then:
    Clive Tedder (1985 I think) = James Tedder (Gr9)
    Roger Tedder (1987) = Stephen Tedder (Gr10)
    Bruce Tedder (1991 or 92) = Tristan Tedder (Gr10) & think his brother is coming from DPHS.

    Good to see Glenwood’s strength in the backline. Glenwood have traditionally been about big forwards bashing it up in a 10 man game, but good to see most of their GK players in the backline. These backline kids can hopefully start playing some exciting running rugby in the next couple of seasons…

    @beet: A Tshutsha missing from DHS – a flank and non travelling reserve for GK.

    C. Waugh from Kearsney moved to flank for the 2nd half of the season and looked pretty good there.

    Standouts for me that didn’t make GK:

    Meilhon (W)
    Anderson (W)
    Stuart (College)
    Visser (KC)
    Rich (KC) – wasn’t available for GK due to USA tour
    Hall (KC)

    Please let me know who you believe that stand outs were this season and if any players are missing excl. Northwood for now, which is on its way.
