Maritzburg College scouts asked to leave Glenwood u13 festival

Friday, 27 March. Glenwood made a bold stand to protect their financial investment and related marketing benefits by asking two Maritzburg College staff members to leave the Glenwood premises where the under-13 festival is taking place. The two College officials, did not breach any rules or conduct themselves in an unacceptable manner during almost an hour at the ground before they were ejected. A Northwood rugby official was however allowed to stay.…

Western Province undefeated at Coca-Cola Under-13 Craven Week

Western Province finished the 2014 Coca-Cola Under-13 Craven Week, held at Glenwood High School in Durban, as the top team after claiming a 29-14 victory over Border in a pulsating final match of a week full of entertainment and a display of South African youth rugby talent.The final day was played at Growthpoint Kings Park.

The win over an impressive Border team left the Cape side as the only unbeaten team and unofficial champions.

Teams from Border, Western Province and Leopards again dominated their opponents on Day Four of the Coca-Cola Under-13 Craven Week, being held at Glenwood High School in Durban.These strong showings on Thursday saw all three remain unbeaten at the event. Border delivered the best comeback of the day, beating Eastern Province 24-13 after trailing 0-13 at the break.WP used their forward power to knock Boland off the undefeated perch, while SWD also lost their status as an unbeaten team.

More impressive performances by the coastal teams continued to be a feature of play at the Under-13 Coca-Cola Craven Week, being played at Glenwood High School in Durban.The second round of fixtures took place on Tuesday and Boland, Border, Eastern Province and Western Province continued their prominent attacking displays from Day One.The Leopards also showed good form with a second win in as many days.

WP, Border impressive on Day One of Under-13 week

Western Province proved far too classy for Mpumalanga, beating the Lowvelders 56-0 in the biggest win of the day, while Border delivered a polished performance, easing past the Blue Bulls 52-10. The Leopards proved far too strong for Border Country Districts and won 37-5, whilst Boland carried too many guns for Griffons, winning 43-12.The Griquas were another team to score at will, beating Zimbabwe 36-12, but the other matches proved to be tightly contested affairs.In an early morning upset, SWD held on to beat Free State 10-8, hosts KZN came up short against the Golden Lions, who won 15-12 and Eastern Province kept out Limpopo Blue Bulls to win 17-12. The Valke also battled hard to overcame a plucky Namibian side by 13-0.

Western Province complete with their massive front row goes head to head with the primary schoolboys from Pretoria. The two provincial regions topped the standings after three match days of under-13 Craven Week action.
