UPDATE: EP has slashed prices per player for the youth weeks.
Grant Khomo Week was R11647, now R7356 – a saving of R4291 (37%)
Academy Week was R16446, now R14210 – a saving of R2237 (14%)
Craven Week has also been reduced in cost.
These Eastern Province Youth Week package costs for u18 Craven Week, u18 Academy Week and u16 Grant Khomo Week 2024 will shock you. If you put it into context there is a very respectable high school in PE with an annual school fees of R35000 per annum and another in Kariega with an annual school fees of R21000 per annum. Add to it that parents and schools were only made aware of it recently.

It always is …
Big issue in EP seems to be no sponsor
SWD players are being charged R7500 irrespective of which week they attend

What’s the issue there? Asking out of curiosity

I guess this is what happens when you pissoff the main sponser of your youth weeks…you dont take responsibility you just shift it on to the parents….

Why expect from the boys to subsidise officials acreditation
COACHES
@warriors7 (Comment #7)
SWD is apparently R7500 per player
That is a lot of money on short notice. Hopefully some businesses can pitch in to help the boys out. Is this the case for the other provinces as well ?
A few line items are just completely ridiculous. R400 per person for two meals in transit? Jy kan ‘n lekker Wimpy burger en Coke vir heelwat onder R200 per ete kry. As jy ‘n all day breakfast inryg is dit nog goedkoper. Why are the players paying for the accreditation of the bus drivers? Why are their off-day allowances the same as the costs of a single meal on other days? Nearly R3500 for team photos is quite exorbitant.

And if the parents simply do not have the money …this is what pisses me off about SARU they host the event take all the credit for “developing”youth rugby that should actually go to the schools ,they want to prescribe wich boys to pick but hell when it comes to paying ….fluck you your on your own

I think in Limpopo, if a player can’t pay the bill falls onto the school and the school must pay and then get the money from the parents
So my question is this, kids whos parents cant afford this ,who picks up the bill and if someone picks ip that bill what is the criteria for them to pay said boys costs?
Unbelievable. Literally a copy and paste. The poor coaches do not get paid for this either so someone is making loads of money.
So many questions. Let’s start with GK is hosted by Grey High …
