Thank you St John’s Festival organisers for live streaming

Occasionally an item on schoolboy rugby followers’ TV rugby wishlist gets ticked.

When First National Bank Classic clashes downsized their coverage of schoolboy rugby matches a while back, Premier Interschools stepped in a few years ago and to this day provide viewers with 12 top traditional clashes every year, covering many of the weekends during the season.

It wasn’t that long ago that the newly created SA Schools under-18 international tournament matches were only available to live audiences who resided in the Western Cape and now SARU with its partners have made it possible for TV viewers to watch every SA under-18 match as well as those involving the other touring international under-18 teams.

So a big thank you must go to St John’s and their sponsors for bringing back live festival rugby to followers around the country. There was time when these matches were broadcast on TV. For some live streaming may not quite have the same effect but certainly it is way better than no coverage at all.

Must agree with Affieouer. St Johns the best festival by far. Loved the live streaming. Big up to St Johns!

I have been to several of the festivals and have to state that the St Johns festival is the best!! It is well organized and has a big variety of food (including healthy options!!!). The beer tent was as popular as ever and enthusiastically supported – only drawback was yesterday after the Affies win over Paul Roos, we wanted to celebrate till late, but was cut short when the band stopped playing and the bar closed
