The South Africa College High School (SACS), the oldest school in South Africa, hosted the farmers from Boland Landbou in the first league game of the season. A record number of teams from Queen’s College, in Queenstown, participated in various rugby festivals throughout the country over the Easter Holidays. The Queen’s College First XV and Queen’s College Junior U13A participated at the KES Easter Festival, whilst the U16A took part in the Jeppe Festival and the U15A and U14A teams took part at the Grey High School Festival in Port Elizabeth. Oakdale Festival 2015 – fixtures, results & team lists

Oakdale is different from many of the other 1st XV Easter Festivals in the sense that only Day 1 fixtures are arranged well in advance, while Day 2 and then Day 3 fixtures are only determined after the conclusion of the preceding match day. The advantage gained from adopting this format is the opportunity to pair up schools of similar strength after the organisers have seen them play.

Spare a thought for the organisers of Krugersdorp High School’s Best of the West Easter Festival. Several school have withdrawn at the last minute. But the show must go on!

From the organisers:
This year’s Easter Festival has been one of the hardest logistically in its 12 years of existent. In a matter of a week leading up to our kick-off on Thursday we have had HS Merensky, Welkom Gimnasium and today (31/03/2015) HS Florida withdraw from the Festival due to governing bodies and injuries etc… This has put us in a tough position when it comes to fixtures and being able to communicate with you and our supporters…

Pukke Skouspel All-Stars Team 2015

Tristan Dixon of Kearsney has been named as Player of the Tournament and captain of the Pukke Skouspel All-Stars Team for 2015.

The team includes SA Schools player Edmund Rheeder from Klerksdorp and Potch Gim’s big 118kg flank Gerhard Steenekamp, who as an u17 player last year represented the Leopards u19 team in the junior Currie Cup.…
