Little private school Southdowns, who play in the Beeld Trofee competition for small schools, has built up a bit of a reputation over the last few years for “acquiring” top school players from prominent Border high schools. Marlow book their place in Die Burger final

Home team Marlow caused an upset by beating Outeniqua 17-10 in their Die Burger Large Schools semi-final. This is a reversal of the  2013 result when Marlow lost to the 18-6 to Kwaggas in George in the same competition. By beating Outeniqua (SWD) in their semi-final clash this afternoon, Marlow (EP) assured themselves a home final.

The finals of the 2014 Die Burger Rugby Competition for High Schools will be played on Saturday August 30 at Cradock.…
