Some good news is that the upgraded Supersport Schools app now contains a cast button, making it easier to watch matches on a smart TV.
There is still a lot of work required to make the app user friendly. The search facility is weak and even the new casting feature needs improvement. But small steps in the right direction are better than nothing.
It has been a lousy period for Multichoice. Their interim results showed they are losing DSTV subscribers and registering huge losses.
They have lots of threats from the likes of Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, HBO Now, and Peacock these days.
Sports rights are what gives Multichoice the competitive edge. The recent Rugby World Cup emphasised this.
It would be interesting to know how financially successful their investment into school sports is proving to be.
