    @NW_Knight: The whole idea of Wildeklawer Superschools is just that ..”SCHOOLS” rugby..not provincial teams or Invitational teams…There is much more in a game playing another school with traditions etc..what motivation is there in playing some anonymous group of players?..It’s not about being arrogant, it is about playing someone with an identidy!

    @All Black: Gimmies do not have a regular fixture against Grey Bloem. Likewise PBH/Gim do not play Affies/Monnas/Klofies in inter-schools fixtures. PRG also does not play Monnas/Klofies outside of festivals. There is hope for a PBH vs Klofies game at St Johns. Otherwise I don’t know why they changed the originally set Gimmies vs Grey Bloem game. Now we have Affies and Boishaai on the B-field. Boishaai and Gimmies playing Invitational teams that were meant to be made up of KZN players. Only problem is KZN schools not at WK have fixtures on the 4 May and will not release players.

    The powerhouse games are PRG vs Affies and Monnas vs GCB. I think those responsible for putting the fixture list together could have done better. But I did say that it will still be a good tournament.

    I believe that behind the scenes the organisers also had some differences about matchups. College don’t set the fixtures.

    @NW_Knight: Does this mean that Northwood have been pursued to postpone their George Campbell game on the 04 May and contribute towards the Sharks and Invitation XVs?

    Otherwise it’s looking like these teams will have to be made up of College and Glenwood 2nd XV players.

    It would not have hurt to invite HTS Middelburg back. I still can’t believe they got dropped in the first place.

    Thw problem next year is that Boishaai will have a brand new team…only 2 regular 2012 starters left over from 2012 and they might not even play in same positions…new year..new team…always exciting

    it seems Glenwood will be playing the big 3 Paarl/Stellenbosch schools in 2013 and far too many fixtures in total (22), especially against the top 20. They are making it harder every year;

    1 Kearsney A 2013/03/16
    2 TBC Pukke 2013/03/20
    3 TBC Pukke 2013/03/23

    5 Paul Roos Kearsney 2013/03/28

    7 Paarl Gim Kearsney 2013/04/01
    8 Voortrekker PMB A 2013/04/13
    9 Michaelhouse A 2013/04/20
    10 Boland Landbou Wildeklawer 2013/05/02
    11 Paarl Boys Wildeklawer 2013/05/04
    12 Hilton H 2013/05/11

    @Ploegskaar, yep our Under15A’s lost 8-18 to BL down in Paarl, so quite close there. Our Under16’s were average this year so as you say two unknown quantities which makes it exciting…

    @Grasshopper: And therein lies the problem, the BL game plan has not changed in 50 years and makes them predictable and very ineffective in years that their packs are not the biggest. Think they only played GW at u/15 level this year and did well, but otherwise 2 unknown quantities matching up, which is what makes these festivals so exciting.

    @Ploegskaar, yep looking forward to the Landbou game. I think the last time the schools played Glenwood won 29-10, BUT that was with big forwards. I think our weakness will once again be our locks. Scrums should be fine with a short front-row scrumming low. Let’s just say I think our game plan will have to move away from trying to run over opposition and try to run around them or into gaps. Should be more exciting though even if they lose..

    @Grasshopper: Well, heavy forwards vs fast backs should make the GW/BL game a interesting one then, although a simple kick and chase game may just easily do the trick for GW. Good opportunity for the Farmers to compete with the best in KZN none the less.

    @Boishaaipa, Glenwood will do well to be 3rd or 4th in KZN next year with much expected from Kearsney and Westville. The Glenwood side is an uncertainty with many guys never having played 1st side previously. All I do know is the forwards will be smaller than usual and the backs quicker than usual. One of the kids running the 100 in 10.6! Our last encounter ended with a 1 or 2 point win for Boishaai so it should be another good one…

    @beet: They should always be able to at least hold their own up front, but it’s what happens at the back which determines the success of a BL season. 100% behind them as always though, and with all their regular WC fixtures it certainly makes for a hell of a year.

    @Ploegskaar: If you look at rankings for 4 years combined: BolandL 17th, Glenwood 10th, Noord-Kaap 8th.

    Those are good matchups. Suggests that even if a below avg year, BL will bring it.

    GCB and Kersney @ KERF and Glenwood and Noord-Kaap @ WK. Depth, or lack thereof, will definitely be tested against some of the top schools in the country, but also just reward for a solid 2012 season. Best of luck to the Landbou boys, they will need it.

    @BoishaaiPa: Yes Affies as well.

    I’m so happy it’s in KZN and that many of the best teams will be there but some of these matchups could have been way better. I for one have come to expect big things from WK and I think they haven’t gone all out to deliver the ultimate package for 2013.

    Will still be an excellent tournament tho.
