    Prestasies:
    Skole-vlak:
    Afrigter van:

@MikeSt: Yeah, but probably best for him to fully recover, get super fit in the next 6 months and really give his stint in the Sharks Under19 a good go. I wish all the best as for me he has what it takes to make it. The mongrel, the skills, the size and the mindset. I think of him as a mini Willem Alberts…

@MikeSt: No, I think that is it for Marco, I heard around 2 months out. Also, Kevin Smit cannot play College or Westville due to the Headmasters agreement. If we played like we did vs DHS and Monnas both College and Westville will believe they have a chance. I hope the real Glenwood stands up though…

@MikeSt: Agreed, it’s likely Glenwood will end up around 10th, which for me is still a bloody good season. We are likely to lose away to Affies and at home to Grey, the stats point that way. But miracles can happen eg 2006. We still need to beat Westville this Saturday and College away in the 3rd term, again massive for us as they are derbies and anything can happen. Westville want ourt scalp for local bragging rights and College have not beaten Glenwood in a while and on Goldstones, so no easy games left. We have played 15 won 14, with 4 to go. 16 from 19 is still a very good season and no one can take the SANIX Çake’ Cup away from us or SA…

@odie15: Agree with you and personally i think the main problem is at the bigger games they play the mental aspect.

These games only normally takes place against the likes of HJS, Gim, Grey at festivals. Along with this they have a massive crammed season where with festivals and Tuks reeks they play 8 to 10 games in a very short period. This is the only way for EGJ to get exposure as the rest of the fixtures is mainly 2nd rates games.

The growing phase seen from a mental aspect from Grade 8 playing is these bigger games is not developed optimally.

Paarl Gim chooses who they play ? What a ridiculous statement. The problem lies with the Boys’ schools who prefer playing among themselves sometimes for good reasons. It is difficult for schools such as Paarl Gim, Monnas and Glenwood to consistently get annual fixtures against other top sides like Grey. In the WC it is another matter where Gim plays Boishaai, Paul Roos, Landbou, Outeniqua and Oakdale on an annual basis. If you include N-S and Wildeklawer their opponents are most of the leading sides in SA.

Agree with the top 4 at this stage. Top 15 looks good for being up there but I think the order will change quite a bit in coming weeks.
Off topic, any good Superbru pools running for the U20 championship where you guys are taking a stab at it?

@MikeSt: EG jansen has always been a strong side. Massive forwards but it seems something just not 100%. They lead games comfortably then all of a sudden allow few points through.

@Losbal: ek stem heeltemal saam met jou. Augustus is werklik tyd wanneer GIM hul rugby speel. Else weet dis hul 1ste keuse boer Sommer 1. Ek self SAl iewers saterdag verloor as interskole.

That’s incorrect, The only difference in our regular annual schedule compared to Boishaai is u have annual fixture against Grey b. We played Affies in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015…more times than Boishaai played them the last 6 years…and we played Grey in 2010, 2011,2012 and 2014…I am surprised that u can think we want to avoid them…no team can pick who they face at festivals!

@bloedwors: Hi Bloedwors . I understand what you say but Gim really needs to play more big teams in a year . You cannot claim to be the best team if you continiously avoid playing Grey Bloem , Affies etc nearly every year . In my opinion you are not playing enough of these games out of choice . I rate your team very highly and your coaching team as well . Why pick such a light program as this year ?

Losbal, firstly congratulations to Boishaai for their excellent season. I have been very impressed with the quality of their play and ability to win very tough games. To be unbeaten for 34 consecutive games is an amazing feat and this team is deservedly the nr 1 team in the country. In my opinion, they are a notch above Grey, Affies and Gim. Just one correction, it is simply not true that inter schools means more to Gim than to Boishaai. The reaction of the Boishaai fans after last year’s match showed what’s the first win in a long time meant to Boishaai. On an aside, we at Paarl Gim do not measure our rugby success on whether we win inter schools. We want to be consistently one of the top first teams in the country, irrespective of what happens the first weekend in August, which is what we have consistently achieved for a very long time. In fact, if you look at the combined rankings of Boishaaipa from 2010 my calculations indicate that Gim is the nr 1 first team in SA over this 7 year period, ahead of Grey B, Boishaai and Affies. Since 2012 we have been nrs 3,1,3,3 and currently 2. That is what we want to achieve…there will invariably be the odd year that it’s not possible but I am confident that we will maintain our position as one of the top rugby schools in SA…even though I also expect Boishaai to beat Gim over the next 3 years, which is no train smash and wil keep our rivalry strong and healthy…

@odie15: Laat hierdie Galpil outoppie jou nou vertel. Don’t count your chickens…..
Landbou is etter.
Was nog altyd so.
Bevestig maar die logposisie eers middel Augustus.
My raad vir BH: fokus. Respect, always. Fear, never.

@Zion: Die jaar se inrerskole gaan massief wees.

Dis waaroor interskole vir my gaan. HJS was volgens my ook oorwinnaars vir wat hulle gedoen het!
