Western Cape heavyweights prep for Noord-Suid tournament

Boland Landbou, Paarl Gymnasium and Outeniqua will be looking to use this weekends games to make a significant strides forward in preparations for their big games against top Noordvaal schools at Noord-Suid tournament starting next Saturday. The three highly rated “Suid” schools will participate in various rugby days around the Western Cape tomorrow (12/03/2016). Here are their teams along with that of HJS Paarl who won’t be part of Noord-Suid but are expected to be somewhere near the summit of the national school rugby rankings this season. Also added is another SA powerhouse Paul Roos and SWD table topper Oakdale.

    Dink Boishaai gaan die Kwaggas verniel. Hierdie Kwagga span kon nog nooit Boishaai wen van hulle o/14 jaar af nie.

    Baie sterkte aan beide Boishaai en Garsies. Affies het oor die laaste vier jaar 3 skoolseuns begrawe en ‘n old boy wat ‘n jaar uit die skool was. Dit is hardverskeurend en sny diep in die skoolgemeenskap. By ons het die kameraadskap en samehorigheid van die manne hulle deur die moeilike tye gedra. Ek glo dit sal hier nie anders wees by die onderskeie skole nie. Ons dra julle gemeenskappe op in ons gebede…

    @Djou: Dankie Djou! Ja, dit is maar bitter hartseer. Die een seun het saam met my klong tot onder 16 nog A span vleuel gespeel en was verlede jaar in ons Seccies span. Die ander seun was ook saam met my seun al die jare in die koshuis en n baie goeie gholf speler. Dit is maar erg, veral vir my seun en hulle pelle. Ons bid vir die gesinne en ook die van die Garsies seun se familie.

    Paul Roos no 6 Hans Koetseir is an ex Westville Boys High pupil. I am very happy that he has been chosen to represent the 1st XV. He was always an outstanding talent. Well done Hans.

    @OudUppie: He is in their 2nd XV. Also it’s still trials phase for Boishaai, so I expect that they will make a few changes during the match.
