Grey High School to host U18 Craven Week in 2026

Grey High School has been officially confirmed as the host of South Africa’s premier provincial schoolboy rugby tournament, the U18 Craven Week, in 2026. The grand event is traditionally staged during the second week of the mid-year school holidays.

In a historic first for school rugby, Grey High will also host the Girls U18 Craven Week, firmly positioning Gqeberha as a central hub of the national school rugby calendar during that period.

Further boosting the Eastern Cape’s profile, the U18 Academy Week is scheduled to take place in the same week, with either Gqeberha or the neighbouring town of Kariega (Uitenhage) under consideration as host venues. The final venue is yet to be confirmed.

The U16 Grant Khomo Week will be staged a week earlier at Kearsney College in Botha’s Hill, approximately 40km from Durban.

Completing the mainstream national picture, the U13 Craven Week will be hosted by Grey College in Bloemfontein.
