Chances of 2014 KZN Top Schools Rugby Fest at Kings Park look bleak

In a nutshell organisers are finding it difficult to find a suitable date to fit in with the majority of schools. They haven’t given up though and if they can get most or some of the top schools to agree on a date, the event will go ahead.

Last year’s Top Schools Rugby Festival was the first of it’s kind for KZN and deemed to be a huge success by all who attended. 10 KZN schools participated in friendly preseason 20-min per half games. Hilton and Michaelhouse were the only absentees.

Hope they do make a plan as it gives the coaches a chance to look at combinations and various players before the season becomes too serious . Always nice for the boys to get a run on KP

It’s been a tradition in WP that the league kicks off with the Newlands Rugby Day where all the premier league A teams play in a 40 min game, no conversions or penalties taken. It been a huge success and hopefully our KZN counterparts can also get this off the ground. Good measure of how the teams look in early season.

Agree. The evening was a great success and the boys enjoyed getting onto the hallowed Kings Park. The fact that the Sharks were in attendance made it that more special. Come Schools-make it happen.

Pity if it doesn’t happen – most enjoyable evening last year
nice vibes – have been looking forward to a repeat this year ,
surely it can’t be that difficult for schools to agree on a date
as an afterthought though I wonder if John Smit & co are cutting costs – playing under lights must have cost a few Rand

lets hope it does take place
