Water polo season underway

The water polo season has begun and it seems like College were first out the blocks to establish themselves as “Numero Due” behind Clifton in KZN.

@Gungets Tuft: hahaha….any Clifton old boys here? If your pool becomes a washing machine you will know who made it so.

Westville report their waterpolo results on the weekend. I am sure the first team results are coming soon …

@CapeMan: I know, they targeted water polo about 7 or 8 years ago, started splashing {snigger} out on bursaries along with building the new aquatics centre. That was not a criticism, the school looked for a niche that suited the startup of their high school and executed perfectly. Good on them. I know many of the kids that have graduated recently, they do a fine job of turning out men as well. And ……. if they carry on referring to themselves as College on twitter I am going to pour 100kg of Omo into their swimming pool.

@Grasshopper: I think Reddam and St Johns are there. @Gungets Tuft: Clifton have become really good at polo and their tournament has some big names. The SACS tournament is the biggest in the country and we invite all the best teams. Last years final saw SACS(the favourites) lose to Grey PE 5-4 in over time I think. Great game by the two schools.

Die 1ste waterpolo wedstryd nie verlede Saterdag by Gim gespeel nie?

    Waterpolo? Regtig?

Waar ek vandaan kom word swem, net soos Engels, net ingespan as jou lewe bedreig word……

(voor julle nou weer die Anglo-Boere Oorlog begin, my ma is Engels….
en waterpolo, bergfietsry, hokkie en sokker is sporte vir die toekoms)

@CapeMan: Last year was the final one of Clifton’s Dream Team, recruited mainly from DPHS I think. They have some good kids coming through but are going to battle to emulate the last two years.

It seems Clifton were rather scared at inviting SACS to their tournament
