KZN Schools Sevens trials today

60 players were invited to attend the KZN trials today. The list was sent out before Saturday’s KZN Sevens tournament at Glenwood, which the hosts won. As a result they will be KZN’s representatives at the Champion of Champions tounament for all the winners of the various regional tounaments that are being staged around the country.

Runners-up were last year’s champions Maritzburg College, with Michaelhouse finishing third and Die Anker from the Valke region claiming fourth spot.

At this stage it’s unclear whether or not more players were invited to attend trials but here is the initial list.

I see in a Westville news letter that Ellse made the team for the second time. It would be nice to see the final KZN team and who else  made the cut.

@Tarpeys: Good question. College have withdrawn from Pioneer tournament due to matrics and Grade 11’s not being available. With U19’s playing that made U16’s unavailable as well.

Some good talent in this squad.

Some quality players in the mix – if the correct squad is picked, we could have a very decent team here
