The big season ending derby takes place on 10 August 2024 on Perdeberg at Boland Landbou.
Both schools are having good seasons. Due to their small number of students, both agricultural schools don’t always have the depth which makes consistency extra challenging. They always seem to punch above their weight though. Given that perspective, the 2024 season has been a good one for both, particularly Oakdale.
Oakdale’s experienced coach Malan du Plessis has been through peaks and troughs with the 1st XV over the years. This season has been a very rewarding one. Interestingly Boland Landbou’s new head coach Schoeman du Preez is an Oakdale old boy, so he needs no introduction when it comes to having a passion for this major interschools event.
