Oh absolutely, not questioning the formula at all, his rankings are definitely the most accurate IMO of all the ones available out there. And yes, sport is never linear!

The Boishaaipa ranking has some robust stats behind it, the best we can get to based on the data. Obviously sport is never linear, that is why we love it. There will be a small amount of bias and stat/sig required. Until it’s round-robin it will never be perfect. We should factor for things like home/away and is it a derby or not. Derbies never go with form….

As per BoschBoy, it’s very difficult when not all sides play each other, but even when they do, it’s tricky – e.g. Milnerton lost to St Charles, who lost to Bishops, who lost to Milnerton…so who should be above whom?

It’s really tough to be able to get accurate predictions, especially if not all teams play each other. A lot of it is subjective.
I think the discrepancy has to come in, with all due respect, to the respective opposition that schools play.
It’s a tough balancing act to compile these rankings, the odd discrepancy over a position will likely occur, despite the rankers best intentions.
How is Rondebosch ranked so high and Milnerton so low after the former having lost to them? Also, KES ranked lower than Noordheuwel after beating them in Krugersdorp??
We will never be able to get the right standings. But I feel there is something slightly off with some of the teams. How is Garsfontein ahead of Wynberg..
Selborne seemed to be ranked a bit too high considering their fixtures. I think somewhere in the mid 30s is probably a better reflection of where they stand.
Looks a pretty fair & accurate ranking for this stage in the season.
