Trio & Bethlehem Voortekkers battle it out to stay in the Wesgrow chase

April 2024

Trio will host Bethlehem Voortrekker in Kroonstad on 06 April in a key Wesgrow Sentrale Skole Sportsreeks match.

In the battle for the league title of 2024, Diamantveld has got a very early jump on both schools with early rounds victories.

Diamantveld beat the Trekkers 18-6 and a fortnight later they overcame Trio 29-27. In doing so the Kimberley co-ed established themselves as firm favourites to capture the 1st XV rugby title.

Now it feels like two of the early season favourites – Trio and Trekkers – are in a sudden-death playoff to stay within reach of the Diamonds. The winner stands an outside chance while the loser is eliminated as a title contender.

The table is still a bit “deurmekaar” with Goudveld going strong and possibly looking to nail down a top-4 finish once the dust settles and if all continues to go well.

Hopefully after the weekend, a points table including bonus points will be available.
