According to the launch video, Supersport has acquired SchoolSportsLive. The business has been rebranded as SuperSports Schools. The same people will continue to run the day-to-day operations. A benefit such as being able to watch footage on DSTV channel 246 have been added. There will probably also be added access the previously off-limits Craven Week Saturday matches, possibly Grant Khomo Week for under-16 players and maybe full coverage of post-school junior inter-provincial regular season as well.

Pre Covid Kyknet was broadcasting some Virseker games,seems that this also stopped. I would really like to watch Monnas vs Garsies this Saturday,Digitv is not working for me.
@beet: In my humble opinion, DigiTV are filling their plate with too much. There are a lot of sports and events they are trying to cover. Then also a lot of other events, meetings, etc. SABC are struggling to do that many live events. DigiTV must make a decision on what they want to be.
In my opinion there is day and night in difference between the two services at the moment. The Monnas Centenary was the full production package and it really could not touch the SSS production of NS. NS had better quality picture,replays, onscreen visuals and more camera angles. The commentary from Monnas didn’t bore me or get on my nerves once – it proved to be the opposite so high marks there. For NS, the commentary was of an overall decent standard too.
I don’t want to knock DigiTV. They obviously did not bring about Covid lockdowns conditions which made us all more dependent on streaming than ever before and their product is helping schools. However the reality from a school rugby perspective is this if I take my viewing experience into account. The paid for Monnas production was adequate. There were a few hiccups but no major letdowns until the last few minutes of the main game, accepting that every once in a while you have to refresh or press pause and play or whatever your other tip there is out there to get the video to start again. But I was satisfied. DigiTV could have passed the batton and let SSS do that production, it was their choice. Also stuff is hard to find on DigiTV. For example I could not find the VOD for Drostdy vs Ben Vorster this morning. It’s a bit mazy. It should much easier to find things. I gave up looking and questioned whether the VOD existed.
So on the DigiTV normal service on Friday, I could not watch the Maritzburg College match, the BL-PRG match only seemed to come right in the second half, the Northwood-Westville game was buffering badly but luckily it was on YouTube so I was able to watch the entire game without hiccup. On Monday I gave on the Maritzburg College, it froze too much. I could not watch the second half of the Kearsney game, there was just a circle on my screen. Fortunately I was able to watch all these games/ part games later on DigiTV after the recorded versions were uploaded onto their website.
It is very frustating at times. I think if schools were not bound to contracts they would probably resort to using Youtube to stream their own rugby matches and there would be few issues.
We live in a country where power cuts and water cuts are part of everyday life at times so this sort of thing is on par with that. Measured against the standards set by modern tech, these problems should not exist. It is a bit like the SABC onscreen sign of the 1980s all over again – “We have a problem, please be patient”
@Gatskop:
Verstaan Monnas was deur buite party hanteer.
@Gatskop: @CharlesZA: @PRondersteuner:
@kantako: Yes you will. You can go School Sports Live and stream it. Its allready on.
Will we be able to stream the Noord/Suid games live if you dont have access to Supersport ? Anyone know ?
@Arend: Strate beter as Digitv in my eerlike opinie.
