Ek meen, julle verjaarsdag was mos spesiaal.

@Bush: I am led to believe that 2ND XV is still unbeaten. The real challenge will come against College on Goldstones where they have never won. The U16A win must have also been good as that Westville side is highly rated. It is still unbelievable hard to win on Meadows when you come from the warmth of the South  .

@Far Meadows: Brilliant side, I thought the loose forwards in that WBHS side were incredible. Game of the day for me was the u16A game. That was pure SBR at its best. The next two weeks going to be massive for House. Specially the KC game. 2 3 House.

@4×4: Congrats KES on historic victory.@Skopgraaf243: Couldn’t agree more.Funny that world cups is won with the best defensive sides, yet the emphasis in SA schools is on attacking play.

I don’t say to neglect atack, just a better balance between the two.Virseker cup,the games between Grey vs PRG,Grey vs Gim and Gim vs Boishaai will be decided on defence, not the other way around.

    @Vyfster: Nothing funny, they
played at Porterville. Boishaai played St John’s and both are playing thursday at wildeklawer, the two schools decided to have a combined practice on saturday instead of a game. Most schools that are going to wildeklawer didn’t play this weekend or/and the Easter weekend.

@Chronicle: Het net ‘n gedeelte gekyk weens ander verpligtinge.

In the Griffons League in Welkom: Welkom Gimnasium 70 – Rooiskool (AHS Kroonstad) 19.

Once Welkom Gimnasium reached the 70 point mark, the game was stopped with seven minutes to go.

It is sad to note the apparent demise of rugby at Rooiskool. They were for decades a powerhouse in the Northern and Eastern Free State. However, for the last couple of years they are struggling to compete.

When I saw their game against Goudveld last year I was shocked to see their lack of basic skills. They also seemed intent on playing the “stamp-kar” brand of rugby used by Northern Transvaal in the 1980’s.

I note from the fixture list that they are playing a measly seven games this year. With only the two Bethlehem schools left to play it seems as if their rugby season could be something of the past by 21 May. I cannot see them making the semi-finals of the Griffons League which has now dwindled to only six participating teams.

I wonder if anybody at SARU is at all concerned at the way schoolboy rugby in the rural areas (“platteland”) has been spiraling downward over the last decade or two?

    Eg Jansen 31:25 Nelspruit.

    Ander uitslae: 0/14 A Outeniqua 70 – 0 Stellenberg
    0/15 A Outeniqua 10 – 5 Stellenberg
    0/16 A Outeniqua 47 – 5 Stellenberg

Goeie afrigting!

@boerboel The Paarl Boys issue is sad. I dont know enough about the actual issue to make a comment either way.I will chat to the coaching staff I know when I get a chance to try to make sense of it. I think Grey will be too strong for Wynberg. I watched the Grey vs Rondebosch match and thought they did not get the bounce of the ball or 50/50 ref calls. It will be close with Wynberg playing at home. I will make an effort to rather catch the under 15 and under 16a games.
