Affies & Grey Bloem off to winning starts

National powerhouse teams Affies and Grey College got their proper season campaigns off to winning starts on Saturday 17 March 2018.

Affies defeated Diamantveld of Kimberley 40-7 at home while Grey travelled 150km up the R30 to meet and beat Gimmies 49-12. Both Diamantveld and Welkom Gim have useful teams this season.

  1. @Rainier: Valid point taken. I must admit my initial feeling at your first comment was the exact opposite of your intention. It seemed like a name recognition disservice to a man who had establish a legacy worth paying tribute as a result of what he achieved during his rugby playing days. So I’m happy there is now clarification re insensitivity.

  3. I managed to update the Grey College squad.

    As it turns out the centre Franco’s surname is spelt S-M-I-T-H
