Noordheuwel makes Puk Prestige history in 2017

See the overall table below
Noordheuwel of Krugersdorp made history in becoming the first school since the Puk Prestige reeks started 14 years ago to win all three major sport trophies. Noordheuwel achieved this feat with an incredible 53-points clear margin over runners up Zwartkop from Pretoria.

Noordheuwel were overall netball winners, winning the netball category for the first time, taking it away from Potch Gimmies whom have won it 11 from the 14 years. Noordheuwel took the hockey trophy and for the third consecutive year now also won the overall rugby trophy.  By the time Noordheuwel’ director of sport Dawie Kriel and principal Dok Jac Fourie have received the rugby, netball and hockey trophies it was no surprise whom the overall sport school would be, schools like Kempton Park and Garsfontein whom have previously competed in the tournament and current contenders like Potch Gimmies, Zwartkop and Marais Viljoen have all made a valiant effort but failed to win all three major trophies as well as the overall sports title.

Lichtenburg of the Leopards region claim the 1st XV rugby title for the second year running
Nories director of rugby Rocky Truter congratulated his coaching staff for winning the rugby for 3 years in a row, and said that all coaches from u14B through to 1st team worked really hard. He said that he is very happy about the 33-14 win over Potch Volkies and that his team played well after a narrow loss against Zwartkop in the quarterfinal missing the winning kick to make it through to the top 4. He added that Zwartkop played really good rugby in the final day to beat Middelburg, but also congratulatted Marais Viljoen and Lichtenburg for what might well go down as one of the best finals in the Puk Prestige reeks to date. Lichtenburg snuck it through in the end winning 29-22, and by doing this, their current grade-12 group have now won the Puk Prestige rugby final every year from under-14. This same group that was in grade-11 last year also beat Noordheuwel in the final, so they are back to back 1st XV rugby winners now.
