Helpmekaar given the cold shoulder by Golden Lions Large Schools

Helpmekaar definitely cannot be feeling the love from their fellow Golden Lions “Large Schools” league rivals at the moment.

Representatives from the “Large Schools” allegedly approached the Golden Lions with a request to have Helpies excluded from the competition. The Golden Lions allegedly could not grant this request but also could not prevent these schools from opting not to play against Helpies.

The end result is that these eight other “Large Schools” will now play against each other to determine the Golden Lions “Large Schools” winner. This winner will progress directly to the quarterfinals of the Beeldtrofee. None of the schools have fixtures lined up against Helpies.

Helpies will however still be part of the Beeldtrofee for “Large Schools” this season.  They will be the automatic second seeds from their region and will have to play a knockout Beeldtrofee qualifier on 01 August.

As a result of not being part of the league matches, Helpmekaar has had opportunity to arrange fixtures against the likes of  Waterkloof, Jeppe, Kynoch Noord-Kaap and Garsfontein during the school second term of 2015.

Skielik speel sterker spanne nou in Kwart eindstryd teen mekaar eerder as in die Half-eind!!

Sien jul aanstaande Saterdag, Affies kom bietjie kuier!

Helpmekaar het ‘n klompie wedstryde bo hul vuurmaakplek by name Waterkloof, Jeppe, Noord Kaap, Grey HS en selfs Garsfontein as jy my vra.

@akw: I think it could just be a follow on from the decision made last year – see here:

Sems like schools will sort things out among themselves.
Guess survival of the weakest is at play here, and that the fittest should move up to the macro schools.
Helpies in any case arranged matches against the macro schools as friendlies.
