Sharks to get a brand new Kankowski in 2015
With Ryan Kankowski (St Andrew’s) pretty much in the twilight years of his Sharks career, it will be exciting for Black and White supporters to welcome a new “Kanko” into their midst. Big Boland hooker Erich Kankowski of Piketburg High from impressed so much during a local Western Cape tournament held before Easter that he has earned himself a contract with the Durban based rugby union and will join them in 2015. Sadly Erich Kankowski had to withdraw from Craven Week due to injury. Interestingly his school teammate, tall lock Christie van der Merwe also stood out at the same Cape rugby festival and will also be heading to Durban in 2015.…
Eduan Keyter to battle it out with EW Viljoen at WP
Western Province has done it again. For the second year running they have managed to scoop the top rated fullback in South African school rugby. Last year it was EW Viljoen of Grey College, Free State and SA Schools and this year Eduan Keyter, the strong running Affies and Blue Bulls Craven Week fullback is amongst the top players heading down South to join the Western Province Rugby Institute. …

Glenwood no.8 Jaco Coetzee has decided to join Western Province on a contract after school. In so doing Coetzee turned down an offer to stay in Durban and play for the Sharks junior team in 2015. …

SA u16 High Performance Squad 2012: where they are in 2014
One of the exciting end products of Grant Khomo Week, the national under-16 provincial youth tournament, is the selection of an SA under-16 High Performance squad. Previously this squad would assemble for a rugby course later on in the year after the school rugby season has concluded and receive valuable assistance from specialists.
