SA HP u16 2010 to Baby Boks SA u20 2014 conversion rate

This is quite interesting. Of the 50 players picked for the SA under-16 High Performance in 2010, 11 were selected three years late to play for the SA under-20 team (Baby Boks) at the Junior World Championships.

Also interesting is that the highly talented matric class of 2013 (SA HP under-16 in 2011) has in it’s first year out of  school already produced  9 SA under-20 players in 2014. Remember that the bulk of players who finished school in 2013 will still qualify to play SA under-20 in 2015.

Sorry some of the “School” data in the table below still needs to be filled in.

Beet – Malwande Mhamhe and Maliviwe Simanga were a Dale when they were selected for the HP team in 2010. Simanga was poached by the Lions at the end of Grade 11 and completed his matric at Parktown.

Francois “Faffa” Botha was at Boland Landbou, currently plays at DurBell RC if memory serves me right.

Ramone Samuels has moved on to the Lions after his stint at the WPRI.

What a joke-Siyabonga Tom must have been 20 years by then and no one raised any concerns ……
