Nories bread “Bottered” on both sides

All eyes will be on the back row when Noordheuwel take on Garsfontein in what promises to be an early-season appetiser for the looming Noordvaal Cup Premier League campaign.

Under the guidance of head coach Ian Joubert, Nories boasts exceptional talent in the loose trio, with Kean and Lewellyn Lourens expected to play pivotal roles at the base of the scrum. Their father, Botter Lourens, serves as Director of Rugby, adding further experience and oversight to a Nories outfit quietly building momentum.

The Krugersdorp side look well-equipped for a genuine tilt at honours this season and arrive with confidence after a solid 34–24 victory over Rustenburg.

Standing opposite them are the ever-formidable Bere of Garsfontein, three-time defending Noordvaal Cup champions and a benchmark of consistency in schoolboy rugby. Despite their pedigree, Garsfontein will be eager to respond after a narrow 26–29 defeat to Jeppe last week.

While it may be labelled a friendly of sorts, this clash carries all the hallmarks of a statement fixture—one that could offer an early glimpse into the balance of power ahead of the business end of the season.

Buite perde so vroeg, Stellies en Kwaggas.

Agterlyn verskriklik goed gelyk.
