One of the long outstanding questions about who would don on the number-12 jersey for Paarl Gim has finally been answered. Head coach Pieter Rossouw is going with reliable Kobus Blanckenberg at inside centre and will utilise rising star Markus Muller at number-13 for their first proper interschools match of 2024 against Stellenberg from the Northern Suburbs.
Blanckenberg, a tough direct player, proved to be key to the u19A team of 2023 improving their form. Muller on the other hand was nationally rated as one of the top inside centres in the under-16A age group of 2023.
For Stellenberg, all eyes will be on big hooker Almero Keizer who will be looking to establish himself as one of the best in the country.
