As mentioned before, doing this without a formula is now extremely difficult. Ranking the Noordvaal teams on their own is tricky. Between Affies, HTS, Garsies, Jansies, Nellies its really still anyone’s guess who the best team in the Noordvaal is at the moment. From SBR Thumbsuck point of view, two Noordvaal teams make the big moves in the Top 10. Affies had an excellent win against Grey College in Bloemfontein prompting a jump to second place. This was Affies’ first encounter with another top contender this season and they came through with flying colours. HTS Middelburg deserve their dues. The NuPower-Tuks champions  for 2013 had a bit of speed wobble against Centurion with a 30-30 draw a couple of weeks back but otherwise it’s been smooth sailing all the way in what has turned out to be a really good season for them so far. Garsfontein were held to a creditable draw by EG Jansen and stay in 5th. Nellies are the runners-up in the NuPower, having gone down 19-14 to HTS in that final. One Noordvaal team on the descent though, is Waterkloof. Their latest setback after a miserable Wildeklawer tournament was a 30-34 defeat at the hands of Noord-Kaap in Kimberley, this after the locals had a player sent off inside the first 10 minutes. In spite of this the SBR thumbsuck remains kind to Klofies and takes into consideration that they have beaten both Nellies and Boishaai this season.
