    @boerboel: So gesien ja, daar is baie bruikbare spelers.

    Boishaai 0/19b wen 32-7
    First xv wen 17-10

    Galpille maak skoonskip, die manne het my mond stilgespeel!
    Beduidend beter as die Nuweland vertoning.

    I’m sure it was a great occasion and hopefully Porterville got maximum value as it is their 150th this year.

    The field at Porterville was not in great shape and the line markings were not the best either.

    The Boishaai – Monnas game wasn’t the spectacle I had hoped for but it was entertaining enough. I felt the right team deserved to win = HJS.

    Monnas just could not get going after a sublime moment and real pace by Luan vd Walt at 15. Boishaai deserved a bigger lead than 10-7 at the break based on how the territory and in particular the possession had played out. All they really had was a power carry by Cameron Hanekom and two kicks by Campion van Ludwig. Monnas had a bit more ball to work with in the second half but they never really looked settled. Yet they leveled the score at 10-10 and might have led with a Boishaai player in the bin for that tip tackle near the end. Ref didn’t see it that way and at the death just like last year at Noord-Suid, Boishaai came up with the BMT and scored a winning try, this time by no.23 Etienne van Rooyen earning the right to be called an impact player with a couple of useful contributions including that try.

    So Monnas are still looking for a maiden victory against Boishaai. Perhaps this will persuade the powers that be to make this match the main game at whatever Monnas have planned for their 100th in 2020.

    @Djou: Ek dink Affies se spankeuses in die jonger groepe was vanjaar beter as verlede jaar.
    Ek neem o16 as voorbeeld.
    Oor o14 kan ek nog nie ‘n opinie lewer nie, maar duidelik het Affies ‘n lekker groep spelers daar beet.

    Ja, sou ook verkies dat die game later in die jaar gespeel word. Miskien oorweeg om die fixture te skuif.
    Maar jul o.14 en o.15 van 2019 was sterk – so Affies het goed gedoen om die uitslae om te swaai.

    @Djou: was nie self daar, so praat uit ander se ervaring. Helpies 1e sou met paar minute oor voorgeloop het indien strafskop oor was. Affies score toe vinnige 10 punte. Lyk my Affies was in algemeen beter voorberei. Gebeur maar so vroeg in seisoen. Ek hou nie van die sterk kompetisie vroeg is seisoen, maar met nabetragting kan die manne fokus op swak plekke en ook net beter doen. Dink ook nie Swys kon tot nou ‘n volle “bead” inkry nie – net so ‘n “tack”, hier en daar ;-)

    @Beet: Nice come back!?
    @BrotherBear: Wat het gebeur Saterdag? Hoor Affies het al die games gewen wat ietwat verbasend is.
    Ek verbeel my Helpmekaar het verlede jaar ‘n paar games gewen, onder meer o.14A en o.15A en nou het daai spanne verloor.

    @Djou: @BrotherBear:
    I think that would put Helpies under undue pressure. I’m sure they would prefer underdog status instead of being classified as a team to beat this season.

    For Affies, the pressure does not go away. The expectations of them are high at the start of just about every season. When they play fellow historical Top 5 schools like Gim, Roos and Grey, it is unlikely to be just another match.
