Paul Roos and Paarl BH way to high in my opinion. Wynberg have only lost 1 game but are ranked (according to you) below Grey PE (whom they beat just 2 weeks back). I realise this is basically a thumb suck so doesnt actually matter but still.

    Some big games this weekend

EG Jansen could possibly be above Affies if you compare their accumalative scores against Duineveld and Paul Roos. EG score margins bigger than compare against Affies against these two. Just a pity EG’s lost against HTS Middelburg. But eveyone has an off day now and then, especially if the game is played on a swimming pool

@BoishaaiPa: IMHO, you should tweak the formula, so that a losing team cannot get more points than a winning team – especially when they’ve played at home, where a “lesser” team sometimes grows an extra arm and a leg. At best, I think a lower ranked team losing very narrowly away from home could get almost the same points. I agree that Strand deserves some ‘bonus’ points, but to push them above SACS when they have lost at home does not make too much sense to me.

Having said that, it is a thankless job and your rankings are good in general, with only a few anomalies – e.g. Kearsney and Glenwood are about six or seven spots too high and Garsfontein is about seven spots too low. Time will tell though.

@sacssupporter: If you lose by 7 or less you get 45% of the Category points of opposing teams…helping the minnows a bit..but this also help with indication of who should be ajusted throughout….SACS got 1 point out of that game while Strand got 1.8…Think about it…Strand performed much better than SACS did dont you think even though they lost?….In the bigger schemes of things, you need to play the stronger opposition to gain some points. Over the season the more you play stronger opposition (and win some).., the better your ranking will be.

@BoishaaiPa: I would agree with you but that those old results should already have been in your calculations before Saturday.
So what you are saying is that Strand got more points for losing to sacs by 7 points than SACs got for beating them by 7? Do you count the Newlands & other shortened games – as was the Bellville game at the Brackenfell festival – 20 mins?
Please don’t get me wrong I think your “log” is a very good one – it just seemed strange to me….

@sacssupporter: SACS should win Strand by much more than 7 points..and SACS lost to Bellville who is a category below them…Wins against WIndhoek and Brackenfell doesnt account for much, only the Boland win is keeping you up there!

I’m a little confused – SACS beat Strand High on Saturday but Strand jump into the top 50 for the first time one place ahead of SACS?

Yup ! as old school says lets enjoy it while we can – scored some big Brownie Points at WK

if we beat Hilton on Saturday and have more local wins we will stay in the top ten

All my mates who saw the match on TV were quite knocked out by Glenwoods defence

This the second time I lost a bet with the Lightie @ Gwd – had to settle with KFC this time
I did not think the machine had enough firepower to beat Paarl Boys

Still bragging at the office – I work with another Gwd Old boy and 2 W’ville Old Boys

For me Glenwood are too high, they have lost to Garsies, Drostdy, Paarl Gim, Kearsney and Paul Roos so should be around 15th to 20th. I am flattered by this ranking and that by beating Boishaai and Boland Landbou we move up drastically but in all honesty the team is more like 15th than 8th.

@rugbyfan: Affies not playing good rugby at the moment. Forwards not strong in the contact. Not cleaning out rucks etc etc. Potentially a very good team with talented individuals. I think their shortcomings will be exposed this coming weekend. :(
Think they might even battle to win teams with strong packs like HTS Middelburg.

Volgens my is die 5 beste spanne, op huidige spelpeil, tans as volg:

    Paarl Gim
    Outenikwa
    EG Jansen
    Grey Bloem
    Garsfontein
