Durban based Westville Boys’ High School’s 1st XV are set to breathe new life into the fairly low profile local Glenwood Festival this year. Ville’s presence is bound to increase attendance figures significantly. Given Ville’s popularity its perhaps surprising that they will not in action at one of the more popular rugby events held during the school holidays. The advantage to the Griffons of the Glenwood Festival is much needed game time close to home, which seems a lot better than doing nothing for that two-week break right at the start of the season.
Amongst their opponent at the festival is Klerksdorp’s Wesvalia. It’s not quite the homonymous of Westville playing against Westville Secondary School from nearby Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape but humorous enough.
Supporters can catch the Westville 1st XV in action on Glenwood’s Dixon’s Field at the following dates and times:
Tue 19 Mar 2019 (14h40) : Westville vs Montana (Pretoria)
Thu 21 Mar 2019 (09h20) : Westville vs Wesvalia
Sat 23 Mar 2019 (09h20) : Westville vs Piet Potgieter
The full Glenwood Festival schedule will be out soon.
